I’ve got a notion to write a column all about patio dining now that the weather is more pleasant, but feel I’d be remiss if I didn’t also write about food trucks. They’re a trendy al fresco option for those who appreciate chill vibes and the feeling of being in Austin without the three-and-a-half-hour drive.

There are countless food trucks in and around Fort Worth, many with a rotation of spots they can be found regularly. If you intend to check any of these out, you should call or visit their social media beforehand to verify their schedule.

Modern Mexican street food at Flama Blanca

Flama Blanca, which serves from the patio of Tulips and Low Doubt Bar, participated in this year’s Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival in the Tacos + Tequila category, with chef Jake Morgan representing the eatery. They also deliver via Doordash, so diners looking to avoid parking on St. Louis Avenue have options when it comes to enjoying the Flama Blanca menu.

According to its Instagram, this truck serves a twist on Mexican street food, namely elote salad, quesadillas, elote cups and a smash chorizo burger with bacon, mozzarella, salsa and tequila-braised onions. Some add-ons include roasted poblano and grilled onions, slow-cooked shredded pork carnitas and achiote-marinated grilled chicken.

Late-night falafels at Sheisho’s

Looking for falafel at 1 a.m. but don’t know anywhere that’s still open? You do now, because Sheisho’s off West Lancaster serves 6 p.m.-2 a.m. and is also available through Doordash

They have falafels over rice or wrapped in Levantine bread, fried or grilled chicken, hummus, chicken tenders and waffle fries. There’s also the Zinger, a chicken tender wrap with red pickles and house sauce in Levantine bread and served with a side of fries. If you’re wanting a bit of everything, you can always go with the Kitchen Sink, which has … well, everything in one box and all covered in house sauce.

Cambodian cuisine at Street Stick Bites

The menu at Street Stick Bites in Watauga is small and simple, but isn’t that usually what people want from food trucks? Simplicity?

This Cambodian street food truck focuses on Khmer-style skewered meats of chicken, beef or pork. Their current menu isn’t available online, but a late-March reel on their Instagram showed a few other dishes on offer: fried rice bowls with beef, shrimp, chicken or a combo of all, and lo mein with either chicken or beef. Egg rolls were also served for 75 cents each or five for $3.

So much meat at Wicked 3D BBQ

This barbecue joint in Pantego posts their schedule on Facebook, so foodies know where to go when looking for Texas Twinkies, meat plates, brisket, brisket smash burgers and smoked chicken.

A menu posted May 2 on Facebook featured the above dishes as well as a couple sides, including mac and cheese, brisket ranch-style beans, tater salad and slaw. Their brisket, turkey, pulled pork and sausage sandwich and meat plates come with two sides, and they’ve got banana pudding and pumpkin cream cheese swirl for dessert.
