The San Antonio Report was the first to report that Soluna, a restaurant with its own extensive local legacy, would eventually move into the former home of The Barn Door. After several attempts to contact ownership, MySA was able to verify the information with a Soluna employee who spoke on behalf of the restaurant.
In a brief phone call, the Soluna employee said that the Mexican restaurant plans to move into The Barn Door’s former location on North New Braunfels Avenue in the next two years. In other words, Soluna may stay put at its Broadway home until at least 2028.
Soluna has been a stop for Mexican food in San Antonio since 1979. In the years since it opened, the restaurant has become known for its chispa cocktails, which are often compared to margaritas. Other menu highlights include fajitas, enchiladas and several seafood dishes. Presently, Soluna is open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, 12:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
