A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday morning on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in East Los Angeles.

The crash was reported at 3:15 a.m. Saturday on the southbound Santa Ana Freeway (5) south of Eastern Avenue, California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Garcia said. The person’s name, age and gender were not available.

A SigAlert, issued at about 3:15 a.m. shutting down lane Nos.1, 2 and 3 but allowing traffic on the far right lane Nos. 4 and 5, was canceled at 6:35 a.m.
