Los Angeles may be known for Hollywood glamour and palm tree-lined boulevards, but a new national ranking suggests the City of Angels is also one of America’s ultimate playgrounds for nightlife and vice.
According to a new study commissioned by PokerTube, Los Angeles ranked No. 4 among the most “sinful” cities in the United States for 2026.
🌴 Los Angeles is officially one of America’s nightlife capitals
While Las Vegas has long held the reputation as the country’s go-to destination for excess, the new data shows major metropolitan cities are overtaking the desert hotspot.
Los Angeles ranked ahead of Las Vegas thanks to its massive concentration of nightlife and adult entertainment venues. Researchers found L.A. has:
- 215 bars
- 41 nightclubs
- 52 pubs
- 119 adult stores
- 18 strip clubs
- 240 tattoo shops
- 38 casinos
The city’s sprawling nightlife culture, celebrity-fueled party scene, and around-the-clock entertainment options helped cement its place near the very top of the rankings.

🌃 America’s nightlife culture is evolving
The findings reflect how nightlife and entertainment culture are shifting beyond traditional party destinations. Instead of concentrated tourist corridors, cities with diverse entertainment scenes and dense populations are emerging as the country’s biggest hotspots for indulgence.
California, in particular, performed strongly in the rankings, with Los Angeles, Oakland, and San Bernardino all landing inside the national top 10.
📊 How the data was collected
The study evaluated more than 200 cities across the United States using a combined index of nightlife venues and adult entertainment infrastructure.
Researchers analyzed the density of bars, nightclubs, pubs, strip clubs, adult stores, tattoo shops, and casinos alongside broader social indicators including excessive drinking rates and the proportion of single residents.
The final index score was used to determine which cities earned the title of America’s most “sinful” destinations for 2026.
