KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten earned his fourth hold of the season in Boston’s 3-1 win over Kansas City on Monday.
The right-hander entered the game in the seventh inning.
After Sonny Gray allowed a walk and an RBI double, Slaten struck out Isaac Collins before getting Michael Massey to ground out to second. Slaten got Kyle Isbel to strike out to end the inning.
Slaten threw 17 pitches, 11 for strikes.
Boston (20-27) continues its series against Kansas City (20-28) on Tuesday.
