PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Acrisure Series announced the groups and first-round matchups for its upcoming multi-team event in Palm Desert on Monday morning.
San Francisco will be paired with Colorado, Nevada and Washington in the Acrisure Holiday Classic on Nov. 27 + 28. First, the Dons are scheduled to take on Colorado on Thursday, Nov. 27 at 11:00 am PT. This contest will air live on CBS Sports. The winners of the first-round games will meet in the championship game on Friday, Nov. 28, at 2:30 pm MT. The losers of Thursday’s contests will tip off Friday’s action with the consolation game at 12:00 pm PT. Friday’s games will air on truTV.
This matchup will mark the sixth all-time meeting between the two programs, with Colorado holding a slight 3-2 advantage in the head-to-head series. San Francisco was victorious in the first-ever meeting between the two, 34-30, on Dec. 16, 1946 in Boulder, but the Buffaloes defeated the Dons most recently in a 72-55 win at home on Dec. 3, 2014. The only neutral site meeting in the series was historic for both programs, coming in the 1955 NCAA Final Four where Bill Russell’s Dons defeated the Buffaloes, 62-50, in a national semifinal game as USF went on to win its first of back-to-back NCAA championships.
The Acrisure Series returns to the Coachella Valley for its third consecutive year, reaffirming its position as the largest multi-team college basketball event in the nation. Set to take place from November 25-28, 2025, the tournament will showcase over 20 NCAA Division I men’s basketball programs competing at the highest level inside Acrisure Arena, the premier sports and entertainment venue in the Coachella Valley.
This marquee Thanksgiving Week event continues to draw national attention with elite college programs, unforgettable matchups, and an electric atmosphere unlike any other. Fans will have the opportunity to witness top-tier talent and future stars of the game all under one roof. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.com, with admission granting access to all games held on the selected date. Tickets are also available at the Ticketmaster Box Office at Acrisure Arena.
With multiple matchups daily, it’s the perfect Thanksgiving destination for basketball fans and families alike. The Acrisure Series will receive extensive national television coverage, with both TNT and CBS involved in showcasing the tournament. All games on Friday will air on truTV, while CBS Sports Network will broadcast a total of 11 games, including the final two matchups on Tuesday, as well as full-day coverage on both Wednesday and Thursday.
