JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – Joey’s Hot Sauce, a company based out of Talent, Oregon, was recently honored with an award at the NYC Hot Sauce Expo. The company won first place at the Screaming Mimi Awards, one of the most prestigious and sought-after awards in the hot sauce industry.
The award-winning sauce, ‘Lisa The Truffle Queen,’ is made with fire-roasted organic peppers and real, wild-foraged truffles from Italy.
Joey Repice, the owner of Joey’s Hot Sauce, says it’s his commitment to quality that sets his brand apart.
“We don’t put any additives, no preservatives, no binders or sugar- it really stemmed from my wife’s need for a hot sauce that had that, and she couldn’t find it on the shelf… You know, it’s the integrity of the quality of the ingredients that we put in, and it’s the balance of that simplicity that I feel that really brings forward a complex flavor,” said Joey Repice.
The winning hot sauce was named in honor of his wife, Lisa.
