PHOENIX (AZFamily) — There were more headaches than usual at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on Thursday because of hundreds of flight delays.
According to the airport, the arrivals or departures of more than 200 flights have been postponed between Wednesday evening and Thursday evening. Two flights have been canceled.
The airport said “weather and other conditions” are causing the delays.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the average delay is about 60 minutes. That is affecting flights in 75% of the U.S.
The National Weather Service said severe thunderstorms are impacting parts of the northern plains and Midwest.
As always, officials recommend that flyers check their flight status before heading to the airport.
