FINAL SGV BASEBALL TOP 20
1. LA MIRADA (25-9)
The Matadores finish on top. They advanced through group play by beating Huntington Beach to reach the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals. They also reached the CIF Division I Regional semifinals. No championships, but they competed well with the big boys.

2. GANESHA (26-3-1)
The Giants beat Loyola 6-3 to win the CIF-SS Division 2 championship. Star pitcher/hitter Logan Schmidt delivered the goods as he helped the Giants win back-to-back CIF-SS titles after capturing Division 4 last season. They opted to skip the regional playoffs.

3. MARANATHA (23-7)
The Minutemen’s best accomplishment was that they qualified for the 16-team group in the Division 1 playoffs. Though they lost both of their games, both games could have gone either way. They lost to Norco 8-7 and Ayala 7-6. It was a great season for the Olympic League champions.

4. SOUTH HILLS (23-7)
The Huskies shared the Hacienda League title with Alta Loma and advanced to the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs, where they lost to eventual champion Ganesha 5-2 in the second round. They had one of the best pitching staffs in the San Gabriel Valley.

5. GLENDORA (23-11)
The Tartans weren’t in the Top 10 before the playoffs began, but they finish in the Top 5 after winning eight straight playoff games to close out the season. The Tartans won two championships, beating Laguna Beach for the CIF-SS Division 4 title and defeating Kaiser for the CIF SoCal Division III Regional title.

6. ST. FRANCIS (17-15-1)
The Golden Knights’ record was misleading because they competed in the super-tough Mission League. In the Division 3 playoffs, however, they showed their worth, reaching the semifinals before a loss to Mira Costa. They also qualified for the CIF SoCal Division II Regional playoffs.

7. ARCADIA (19-11)
The Apaches reached the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs with a first-round win over Simi Valley, 3-2, before losing to Summit 5-4. They finished second in the Pacific League.

8. BISHOP AMAT (16-12)
The Lancers had a disappointing end in the CIF-SS playoffs, losing in the first round of the Division 3 playoffs to Corona del Mar, 2-1, in nine innings. They won the Del Rey League.

9. LA CANADA (19-10)
The Spartans swept two games with Monrovia in the final week of the regular season to win the Rio Hondo League title. They advanced to the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs, falling in the first round to Summit 7-6. Pitcher Joe Bell had a fantastic season.

10. MONROVIA (18-8-1)
The Wildcats beat Castaic 10-6 in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs. Their season ended with a loss to Moorpark 8-6 in the second round.
