A 25-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a San Antonio shop early Friday morning, June 12, following a reported altercation. An investigation by MySA found that more than 100 police calls had been logged at the location prior to that.
Officers arrived at the Classic Mart & 420 Shop at 4069 Medical Drive at 1:04 a.m., according to a preliminary information report from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD). The store is located within a strip mall in the Medical Center.
According to authorities, witnesses say an unknown suspect entered the business and argued with the victim, whose identity has not been released. Police say the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is the latest in a string of complaints reported at the store’s address. We asked SAPD about calls to the location, and authorities provided us with records from June 16, 2024, to June 12, 2026. Here’s what we found.
SAPD has logged 21 incidents since Saturday, January 17. These include, but are not limited to, unspecified disturbances — one of which involved a gun — welfare checks, and the company’s silent alarm being triggered.
Three calls to authorities on Friday, June 12, reported an ongoing shooting. However, investigators later found one victim who had been fatally stabbed.
There were 74 calls documented by SAPD from Wednesday, January 8, 2025, to Sunday, December 28, 2025. One was related to lewd conduct, the data shows, and four involved gun-related disturbances or a reported suspicious person with a gun.
In April 2025, two reports of shots being fired or heard at the location were made just before 2 a.m. There were three welfare checks at the site, a reported fight in the fall (October 2025), and seven documented instances of assault.
Police noted 48 incidents between Sunday, June 16, 2024, and Christmas Eve 2024. Authorities logged 17 disturbance-related calls, including four that involved a gun. In early July, there was a separate report of a suspicious person with a gun at the address just before 2 a.m. Two of the logged events listed the problem as “wanted person” at the site, once in September 2024 and again in October 2024.
There was one instance of shots being fired or heard in October 2024 and an assault in progress in August 2024. The silent alarm was triggered 12 times, including on Halloween 2024.
MySA reached out to Classic Mart & 420 Shop for comment, but did not hear back in time for publication. The shop is open 24 hours, seven days a week, according to Google Maps. SAPD is actively investigating Friday’s deadly stabbing and says preliminary information is subject to change. No one has been arrested in the June 12 stabbing.
