MOREHEAD, Ky. (WKYT) – A black bear was spotted in Morehead over the June 12 weekend according to authorities.
The Morehead Police Department says a black bear was seen in the county. Police say while it doesn’t mean the bear will make its way into the city, preparation is important.
Police ask for any sightings to be reported to them.
Authorities say some important safety tips are:
- Give the bear plenty of space
- Keep trash, pet food, and grills secured
- Bring in bird feeders for now
- Never corner a bear, let it wander on its way
