PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A pursuit ended in a multi-vehicle crash, shutting down part of a major central Phoenix freeway on Monday afternoon.
A spokesperson with Mesa police says its officers were pursuing a driver leading up to the collision on the Loop 202 Red Mountain near the 24th Street exit in Phoenix. The suspect is in custody, but it’s unclear if any injuries have been reported.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the westbound lanes of the Loop 202 Red Mountain are closed at the Mini Stack.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes as rush hour approaches. There is no estimated time to reopen the westbound lanes. Eastbound lanes are unaffected.
