1. City opens lottery for free tickets to Knicks’ City Hall ceremony
The city will give away 600 free tickets to the Knicks’ championship ceremony at City Hall, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said yesterday.
The ceremony will take place at noon on Thursday following a ticker-tape parade, which Mamdani predicted could be “the largest parade in our city’s history.”
2. Espaillat and Avila Chevalier trade blows in combative NY-13 debate
The leading candidates for New York’s 13th Congressional District in upper Manhattan and the Bronx debated on NY1.
The incumbent, Rep. Adriano Espaillat, leaned on his record while highlighting controversial tweets posted years ago by his opponent.
Darializa Avila Chevalier, a community organizer, said she regretted her tweets and apologized to former Vice President Kamala Harris.

3. Final Rent Guidelines Board meeting held ahead of vote on rent freeze or increase
Tenants rallied at Joan of Arc Park ahead of the Rent Guidelines Board’s final public hearing at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side before the board votes on whether to freeze or raise the rent.
Tenants said they hope for a rent freeze, while property owners argued they’re concerned about up keeping older buildings.
