PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Arizona Department of Public Safety has issued a Turquoise Alert for a 6-year-old girl who was last seen with her non-custodial mom at Phoenix Sky Harbor earlier this month.
An emergency alert was issued Wednesday night for Violet Coultas, who was reportedly taken by her non-custodial mother, Sarah Coultas, in violation of a court order.

DPS says that the pair was last seen at the airport around 10 p.m. on July 12.
Violet was last seen wearing a white shirt, a pink jacket, a pink sweater, light-colored shorts, and white shoes. She is described as white, 3′10″ tall, weighing approximately 43 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes.
According to Arizona’s Family sister station, Hawaii News Now, Sarah is wanted for questioning in connection with a custodial interference investigation with the Hawaii Police Department.
This is the first Turquoise Alert in the state of Arizona, according to DPS.
What’s the criteria for a Turquoise Alert?
Under the new alert system, a law enforcement agency may request it if the following conditions are met:
- The missing person is under the age of 65.
- The investigating agency has exhausted all other available local resources.
- The person has gone missing under unexplained or suspicious circumstances.
- The missing person is in danger, is with a potentially dangerous person, or there are other factors indicating that the missing person may be in danger.
- Public information could assist in the safe recovery of the missing person.
