SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — No heat-related warnings or advisories for the Alamo City and surrounding area heading into the weekend, but severe weather could be stepping in take their place.
While daytime highs will stay in the mid-to-low 90s over the next several days, the chance for flash-flooding will also enter the picture for much of South Central Texas.
What to Know:
- Rounds of locally heavy rain may result in flash flooding and rises on area creeks, streams, and rivers from late Friday night through Saturday.
- Greatest risk occurs Friday through Friday night across majority of South-Central Texas where there is a level 2 of 4 risk for excessive rainfall.
- Rainfall rates could exceed 2 inches per hour at times in the heaviest rain.
Areas to the south and southeast of San Antonio will still experience dangerously hot temperatures on Friday, and those traveling to those areas could find themselves in either a Heat Advisory or an Excessive Heat Warning.
