PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A one-year-old child has died after being pulled out of a backyard pool in Phoenix, according to officials with the city’s fire department.
First responders were called to a home near Bell Road and 56th Street at 7:30 p.m. for reports of a drowning. Family members were giving CPR when first responders arrived.
The child was unconscious and not breathing when pulled from the pool, officials said. She was taken to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition, where she was pronounced dead.
The scene has been turned over to the Phoenix Police Department for an investigation.
