11:35 a.m. update: There is slight congestion on State Highway 180 in Arlington. Traffic is still flowing smoothly on interstates heading toward Dallas Stadium (AT&T Stadium). No incidents have occurred near the stadium, according to TxDOT cameras.
10:37 a.m. update: Traffic is flowing normally on all major highways leading to Dallas Stadium (AT&T Stadium). According to TxDOT traffic cameras, there are not any issues at this time.
As traffic from morning commuters and rainy weather slow down, traffic in North Texas is expected to persist on major highways leading to Dallas Stadium ahead of the World Cup match between Argentina and Austria.
Although the match starts at 12 p.m., the North Central Texas Council of Governments urges attendees to begin heading to the stadium at least two hours before kickoff.
Increased congestion could occur on major corridors leading to the stadium such as Interstate 30, Interstate 20, State Highway 360, State Highway 183, State Highway 114 and the President George Bush Turnpike.
Regional transportation officials have urged local commuters to check traffic conditions prior to driving and suggest taking alternate routes to avoid gridlock.
