A woman was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly shot another person and had a brief standoff with Dallas County’s sheriff deputies in Hutchins, a sheriff’s news release said.
The sheriff’s office identified the woman as 57-year-old Patricia Holt and said the investigation is still ongoing. It’s not immediately clear if she has an attorney and what charges she could face as a result of the incident.
Deputies responded to a shooting call in the 1500 block of Fulghum Road at 5:33 p.m., according to the news release.
At the scene, officials made contact with Holt, who deputies said had shot an individual. The news release didn’t identify the victim, specify their current condition or provide a motive.

Holt attempted to leave the scene in a truck-tractor, and deputies tried to disable the vehicle with spike strips, according to the news release. It says the woman then stopped in the middle of the street and barricaded herself in the cab of the truck, while deputies began to negotiate with her.
Holt surrendered to deputies at 8:55 p.m. and was transported to the Dallas County jail, the news release said. Her information has yet to appear on the online jail records as of 10:20 p.m Thursday.
