It’s setting up to be a major year for Terry Black’s Barbecue. After collecting millions from fans visiting Dallas for the FIFA World Cup, the Austin-born barbecue empire now has three openings to look forward to, and an even greater milestone at the start of 2027.
Terry Black’s Barbecue will officially be open in San Antonio, Houston and New Braunfels by the end of the year and now Black Family Hospitality has revealed their opening dates, according to a news release shared with MySA. San Antonio will get its first taste of Terry Black’s just before Christmas on December 16. Prior to that, barbecue fanatics can experience Terry Black’s in Houston on August 12 and in New Braunfels on September 23.
“Our family has never measured success by the number of restaurants we open,” Black Family Hospitality co-founder Mark Black said in a news release. “We’ve always believed in creating places where people gather, celebrate and build traditions. Every concept offers a different experience, exceptional food, genuine hospitality and meaningful connections.”
Terry Black’s Barbecue first opened in Austin in 2014 as part of a family split from The Original Black’s Barbecue. Since then the company has expanded with smokehouses in Lockhart, Waco, Dallas and Fort Worth. Next year will mark the brand’s biggest move yet as Terry Black’s will open its first Nashville restaurant in early 2027. While the official opening has yet to be announced, the move sees the company join other Texas brands such as Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott, Torchy’s Tacos, Chuy’s and Curry Boys that have expanded to the Country Music Capital.
Add in the fact that Black Family Hospitality is also expanding the Opal’s Oysters, Big Bob’s Bowling and Glory Roll Sushi & Cocktails brands and the Terry Black’s team is positioning itself for even greater growth in years to come.
