Chicago police arrested the suspect in a shooting that left one person injured in Wisconsin Dells, authorities in the Wisconsin community said.

Oscar Perez, 34, of the Wisconsin Dells area, was taken into custody at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday on a charge of first-degree homicide by the Chicago Police Department, Wisconsin Dells police said in a Facebook post. It wasn’t immediately clear where Perez was apprehended in Chicago.

The 34-year-old was wanted in connection with a shooting the day prior in the area of USH 12/16 and Fitzgerald Road in Wisconsin Dells. A man sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, Wisconsin Dells, authorities said.

An investigation led officers from the initial response area to the 600 block of Commercial Avenue, where evidence revealed a shooting had taken place outside a home.

The shooting was believed to be a targeted and isolated incident.

No information on a possible motive had been released as of Friday night.
