NEW JERSEY (WABC) — Storm damage is causing issues on New Jersey Transit, and other modes of mass transportation during the Friday evening commute.
NJ Transit says Morris and Essex line and Gladstone Branch rail service is subject to up to 45-minute delays in both directions following a downed tree on overhead wires near Morristown.
Midtown Direct trains departing Penn Station New York will make all local stops.
Due to an earlier disabled train in one of the Hudson River Tunnels, NJ Transit rail service is subject to up to 20-minute delays into and out of Penn Station.
NJ Transit is also canceling some trains due to crew availability that will cause further disruptions.
NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being crossed-honored by the agency’s bus and private carrier buses and PATH at Hoboken and 33rd Street, New York. Customers should visit their website for alternate service information.
Meanwhile, Staten Island Railway train service was suspended between St. George and Grasmere due to trees on tracks.
And due to high winds, all upper-level lanes of the Verrazzano Bridge were closed in both directions.
