Sean Barnard breaks down his best bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for today’s two-game WNBA slate.

Two games of WNBA action will take place across today’s Saturday slate.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. EST, the New York Liberty will host the Los Angeles Sparks. This will be the second night of a back-to-back for the Liberty after defeating the Phoenix Mercury 89-76 last night. This also marks the second matchup of the season between these two teams, with the Liberty defeating the Sparks 89-79 already this year.

Half an hour later, the Seattle Storm and Washington Mystics face off. These teams faced off less than two weeks ago, resulting in a 74-69 Storm victory. Seattle sits fourth in the WNBA standings while the Mystics are in ninth place and hoping to make a playoff push.

Ahead of the pair of matchups, here are my favorite WNBA bets on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Across the opening 22 games she has played, Sabrina Ionescu is averaging a career-best 18.9 points along with 5.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds per contest. She still has some production left on the table as the four-time All-Star is shooting a career-worst 32.0% from beyond the three-point arc and just 38.6% from the field. Ionescu is at her best when playing up-tempo basketball and should see this exact opportunity tonight.

The Sparks rank second in the WNBA in pace and turn the ball over at the second-highest rate. Los Angeles also ranks 11th in opponent points allowed and 12th in opponent field goal percentage while giving up the second-most made three-pointers per night. Ionescu scored 20 points in the first matchup against the Sparks and enters fresh off a 29-point performance last night.

Ionescu has tallied over 18.5 points in 10 of the 22 games this season, including four of the past seven matchups. The Sparks are riding a four-game winning streak, but all four wins came against the Connecticut Sun and Washington Mystics. Expect the Liberty to present a significant increase in the competition level that should serve as a bit of a wake-up call for Los Angeles. Count on Ionescu leading the charge and having some success against a struggling defense. The Liberty star should record over 18.5 points for the second time against the Sparks and the fifth time in the past eight games.

The Seattle Storm enter with a 15-10 record and have climbed to fourth place in the WNBA standings. They are coming off a commanding 95-57 victory over the Chicago Sky which marked their third-highest scoring output on the season. In contrast, the Washington Mystics are in ninth place in the standings with an 11-12 record on the year. These two teams faced off on July 13th, which resulted in a 74-69 victory for the Mystics.

Look for the Storm to be ready to get their revenge tonight. Seattle unraveled in the previous matchup between these two teams and was outscored 27-14 in the fourth quarter. They also shot just 36.2% from the field and allowed 48 points in the paint. The Mystics then went on to drop back-to-back games at the hands of the Sparks, allowing 93 and 99 points in the losses.

Washington is averaging just 80.9 points per game which ranks eighth in the league, while the Storm have the second-best defense with which they are holding opponents to just 77.6 points per contest. Seattle was clicking on all cylinders in their previous victory, so look for them to build off this against a team with some overlapping flaws. Expect the Mystics to have trouble scoring against Seattle’s stingy defense and for the Storm to carry over some of the offensive production. Seattle is the better team here, so look for them to avenge the clunker they put up in the previous matchup. Washington is also 1-6 against the spread in their past seven while the Storm have covered in three of their last five. I am backing the Storm to get back on track and cover the 3.5-point spread.

Now in her age-34 season, Skylar Diggins continues to perform at a high level. The seven-time All-Star is averaging 17.7 points, 5.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. Diggins is also connecting on 38.9% of her three-point attempts while launching 4.0 per contest. The Storm guard has seen her perimeter volume grow in recent games, launching 26 three-point attempts across her past six appearances.

This is a great matchup to continue building off this. Washington ranks ninth in the league in three-point attempts allowed at 25.5 per contest. Diggins struggled in the first matchup between these two teams, shooting just 4-for-14 from the field. This marked her worst shooting performance all season. Diggins also attempted just one long-range attempt, which marks just the second time all season she has attempted fewer than two in a game.

Overall, Diggins has made two or more three-pointers in 11 of 24 games, including shooting 3-for-6 from beyond the arc in the previous contest. With Washington vulnerable from this area of the floor and Diggins attacking at an increased rate in recent games, look for this effort to continue. Getting the +110 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook is solid value. Count on Diggins leading the charge in avenging the previous loss to the Mystics and knocking down a pair of three-pointers in the process.
