Author Mallary Tenore Tarpley will appear at Interabang Books on Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. to discuss her new book, Slip: Life in the Middle of Eating Disorder Recovery.

In the book, the journalist and professor at the University of Texas-Austin chronicles her own struggles with anorexia and her recovery from the disorder. She interviewed hundreds of patients and doctors — many from the Dallas area — to gain a deeper understanding of eating disorders and their treatment.
Tarpley will have a conversation with Dallas Morning News staff writer Sarah Hepola, followed by an audience Q-and-A and book signing. The event is free to attend.
