Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton can’t seem to shake allegations of adultery as he continues to campaign for the U.S. Senate.
Days after a heckler was kicked out of Paxton’s San Antonio campaign rally for bringing up his alleged extramarital affair with former Texas Senate aide Laura Olson, the MAGA Republican was called out again Monday during a virtual town hall.
During the call, one of the participants asked Paxton point-blank, “Why did you cheat on your wife?”
After a long pause, Paxton declined to respond, saying it was a personal matter.
“Um … I’m not going to talk about personal issues that relate to my family, just like I don’t think you would want to discuss your marriage on a call with thousands of people,” he said.
Paxton’s wife, State Sen. Angela Paxton, in July of last year announced she would seek a divorce on “biblical grounds.”
Although the pair are still legally married, Ken Paxton made headlines last month when he was photographed vacationing in Europe with another alleged mistress, Christian influencer Tracy Duhon.
The accusations of cheating aren’t the only headaches Paxton’s campaign faces.
Over the past few weeks, the AG has been the subject of media investigations that suggested he may have committed voter fraud and raised questions about how he afforded to amass a $9 million real estate empire.
What’s more, his Democratic rival, James Talarico, out-fundraised his campaign during the second quarter by a 3-1 margin.
