September brings Apple\u2019s big iPhone launch event<\/a>, where new Apple Watch models will be introduced too. Here\u2019s what to expect from Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch Series 12.<\/p>\n Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch Series 12 coming with new chip, health features, more<\/p>\n If you\u2019re interested in the new iPhone models being unveiled next month<\/a>, there are a myriad of leaks that offer a great summary of what to expect from iPhone 18 Pro<\/a> and iPhone Ultra<\/a>.<\/p>\n But new Apple Watch models will launch alongside those iPhones, and reporting on what\u2019s coming is a lot more scarce.<\/p>\n We\u2019re expecting two new Watch models at the September event:<\/p>\n Mark Gurman reported recently at Bloomberg<\/a> that both models will get \u201ca long-awaited bump in chips and speed.\u201d<\/p>\n Current Watch models feature an S10 chip, but overall performance hasn\u2019t actually changed much since 2023\u2019s S9. With watchOS 27 introducing Siri AI, a more powerful S11 chip could arrive at just the right time.<\/p>\n Digitimes claims<\/a> Apple Watch Ultra 4 is getting a \u201cmajor redesign,\u201d but Gurman believes big design changes aren\u2019t coming until at least next year. He does say, however, that Apple might bring back<\/a> a ceramic case option for this year\u2019s models.<\/p>\n That same Digitimes report says<\/a> that Apple Watch Ultra 4 will pack \u201ca significant upgrade to sensing functions,\u201d with up to double the number of sensors in the Watch.<\/p>\n Some of those new sensors could relate to a rumored upgrade for hypertension notifications.<\/p>\n Apple launched hypertension notifications last year in watchOS 26. And the FDA is reportedly<\/a> reviewing a new notification feature related to high blood pressure. It will likely be unveiled alongside Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Series 12.<\/p>\n New Apple Watch models: wrap-up<\/p>\n Overall, there\u2019s still plenty of room for Apple to surprise us with its new Watch models.
