New York Post<\/p>\n<p>A cause of death wasn\u2019t revealed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are saddened to learn about the passing of former Met Butch Huskey,\u201d the Mets said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Huskey was the Mets\u2019 seventh-round pick in 1989 out of high school, and he made his MLB debut four years later in 1993 before going on to appear in 414 games for the Mets \u2014 while also spending time with the Mariners, Twins, Red Sox and Rockies.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.24725944;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"40345680\" width=\"736\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/mets-manager-bobby-valentine-estatic-62340838_ab5bb5.jpg\" alt=\"Mets manager Bobby Valentine enthusiastically high-fives player Butch Huskey after a home run.\" class=\"wp-image-40345680\"  \/>Mets manager Bobby Valentine is ecstatic after Butch Huskey (42) hit a home run in the sixth inning during a game against the Padres on August 23, 1997.
