In fact, it was the restaurant’s first appearance on the show, back in 2011, that catapulted what was then a small mom-and-pop called Chef Point Cafe, located in a gas station in Watauga, that was instrumental to the restaurant’s success.

According to a release from the Food Network, the show is called “Triple D Nation: Pickin’ Up Flavor,” and represents a trio of revisits to restaurants that Fieri has visited in the past.

The episode is described as follows:

“This trip, Guy Fieri’s pickin’ up where he left off at some Flavortown hot spots! First, a gourmet taco spot in Phoenix has expanded, platin’ new specialties like decadent deep-fried pink mole quesadillas and top-tier Tamarindo mahi-mahi tacos. Then, a Boston pizza joint now has two locations slingin’ their signature pies and more, like the mac cheesy pizza and a toothsome turkey sub. And in Colleyville, Texas, African-inspired cuisine is goin’ strong with out-of-bounds oxtails and their sexy fried chicken.”

Food Network does not reveal the names of the restaurants that appear on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives in advance. And restaurants that are featured on their shows are not allowed to reveal their participation without approval from Food Network.

However, there are no other restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth that have been previously featured on DD&D which also serve “out-of-bounds oxtails” and “sexy fried chicken.”

To corroborate, here’s the menu descriptions from Chef Point:

Better Than Sex Fried Chicken — Chicken marinated and seasoned with secret sauces and spices, deep fried and served with your choice of mashed potatoes, freedom fries or roasted potatoes.

Oxtails, Cooked in our spicy African red sauce and served with coconut rice.

Last season’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives boasted a strong DFW presence, with six area restaurants featured on the show including Smoke ‘N Ash, the “Tex-Ethiopian” BBQ restaurant in Arlington, whose episode debuted on May 23.

“Triple D Nation: Pickin’ Up Flavor” premieres on Friday, August 15 at 8 pm.

A Colleyville restaurant is about to hit the big-time — again — via an appearance on Diners, Drive-ins,…

[5138
5229,7738,27144,2879,7371,7372,65332,65331,358,3187,67,586,132,5230,68,2969,9963
0":"post-100137","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-fort-worth","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-beer","10":"tag-chefs","11":"tag-events","12":"tag-fort-worth","13":"tag-fortworth","14":"tag-hatch-chile-festival","15":"tag-hatch-chile-season","16":"tag-texas","17":"tag-tx","18":"tag-united-states","19":"tag-united-states-of-america","20":"tag-unitedstates","21":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","22":"tag-us","23":"tag-usa","24":"tag-wine
["GET
