<\/p>\nDNR investigates third beaver attack of summer after 10-year-old girl bitten at Seneca Creek State Park<\/p>\n

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources said it is investigating a new beaver attack at a state park, the third reported this summer.<\/p>\n
According to the agency, Seneca Creek State Park staff received a report Thursday afternoon that a beaver attacked and bit a 10-year-old girl who was visiting the park as part of a summer camp program.<\/p>\n
DNR said the beaver escaped into the water when camp counselors intervened.<\/p>\n
The girl was taken to a Bethesda hospital, where she was treated for three laceration to her upper leg.<\/p>\n
DNR, Montgomery County Animal Services and Seneca Creek State Park staff, are searching for the beaver.<\/p>\n
