APOPKA, Fla. \u2014 An unexpected trio stopped by Channel 9 Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry\u2019s home overnight: a momma bear and her two cubs.<\/p>\n

The bears were caught on Ring doorbell video as they wandered through the Apopka area.<\/p>\n

While bear sightings are not unusual in parts of Central Florida, wildlife officials remind residents who live in bear-populated areas to take steps to avoid attracting bears to their homes.<\/p>\n

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recommends that people who live in areas where bears are common, including Apopka, use bear-resistant trash cans.<\/p>\n

Keeping garbage securely stored can help prevent bears from being drawn into neighborhoods in search of an easy meal.<\/p>\n

For Terry, this overnight visit was certainly an unexpected way to start the day, and a reminder that in Central Florida, wildlife can sometimes show up right at your doorstep.<\/p>\n
