An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/sports\/nba\/mavericks\/espn-report-details-growing-frustration-between-dallas-mavs-luka-doncic-5-things-we-learned\/287-0006a0b3-8887-4ab2-b9e0-7101696da36a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ESPN report<\/a>, published in the days after Nico Harrison&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/sports\/nba\/mavericks\/luka-doncic-trade-timeline-dallas-mavericks-nico-harrison-los-angeles-lakers\/287-e6b74ca9-78f5-4017-b74c-dff777c4551c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">infamous trade,\u00a0<\/a>claimed that Don\u010di\u0107&#8217;s weight was a primary concern of the Mavs organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Men&#8217;s Health piece, published Monday, asserts that the former Maverick is in the shape of his life thanks to two-a-day workouts, a gluten-free diet and 250 grams of protein per day. He told the magazine that the Lakers&#8217; ending their playoff run in just five games against the Timberwolves fueled his off-season transformation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery summer I try my best to work on different things,&#8221; he told Men&#8217;s Health. &#8220;Obviously, I\u2019m very competitive. This summer was just a little bit different, you know. It kind of motivated me to be even better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Don\u010di\u0107 also opened up about his early days in the league. Drafted by the Mavericks at just 18 years old, Don\u010di\u0107 said it took him several years to balance the time and travel needed to play NBA basketball with maintaining his health and happiness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEspecially in the NBA, you travel almost all the time. You\u2019re never home. And for me, you know, after the season, going back home, it\u2019s a big thing, you know?&#8221; Don\u010di\u0107 said. &#8220;When I came to the NBA, I was 18. Honestly, I didn\u2019t know what to expect those first four or five years. Then I said, \u2018I need to do this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Call it Luka 2.0, skinny Luka, or a revenge bod.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Whatever you call it, Luka Don\u010di\u0107 seems happy with the results of his off-season conditioning and he doesn&#8217;t have any plans to pull back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, be the best that I can be, take care of myself,&#8221; Don\u010di\u0107 said. &#8220;This year, with my team, I think we did a huge step. But this is just the start, you know. I need to keep going.
