{"id":1002779,"date":"2026-08-15T17:23:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T17:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1002779\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T17:23:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T17:23:15","slug":"spacex-officially-closes-its-cursor-acquisition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1002779\/","title":{"rendered":"SpaceX officially closes its Cursor acquisition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI coding startup Cursor is now officially a part of SpaceX, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cursor.com\/blog\/joining-spacex\" target=\"_blank\">an announcement on the Cursor blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elon Musk\u2019s SpaceX \u2014 which also acquired Musk\u2019s xAI earlier this year \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/04\/21\/spacex-is-working-with-cursor-and-has-an-option-to-buy-the-startup-for-60-billion\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced a deal in April<\/a> for the companies to develop technology together; the deal also gave SpaceX the option to acquire Cursor for $60 billion. Two months later, as SpaceX became a public company, the companies said they were <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/06\/16\/spacex-to-acquire-cursor-for-60b-in-stock-days-after-blockbuster-ipo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">moving forward with the acquisition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its announcement that the deal has closed, Cursor repeatedly referenced SpaceX\u2019s computing infrastructure, which the company has been <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/08\/04\/spacex-doubles-revenues-on-anthropic-and-google-compute-deals-starlink-growth\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">renting out to customers including Anthropic and Google<\/a>.
