While a number of Valley cities are ending their contracts with the Flock Group over misuse of the automatic license plate reader camera systems, Scottsdale leaders seem to have mixed feelings about it. <\/p>\n
The Scottsdale Police Department audits its system four times per year with every search recorded and time-stamped, allowing the department to review who conducted a search, when it occurred and the documented law-enforcement purpose associated with it, according to a fact sheet about the department\u2019s Flock system created by the Scottsdale Police Department.<\/p>\n
\u201cSingle-use searches are individually validated against law-enforcement records,\u201d the fact sheet says. \u201cAnomalies identified and presented through the audit process are entered into the department\u2019s Internal Affairs system, and every anomaly is investigated by Internal Affairs and the employee\u2019s supervisor.
