Scottie Scheffler has still been the dominant force on the PGA Tour this season despite the fact that he has only won once in 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scheffler is sitting comfortably at the top of the FedEx Cup points list, and he leads the vast majority of the key statistical categories.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old world number one has 11 top-5 finishes to his name in just 17 starts this season, including five runner-ups!<\/p>\n

The margins are so fine on the PGA Tour<\/a>, and it\u2019s fair to argue that Scottie Scheffler<\/a> could have easily won four or five times already this season.<\/p>\n

The man from Dallas, Texas, is in a strong position to record his second win of the season this week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scheffler\u2019s 61 on Friday was the joint-third lowest score of his career<\/a>, and it seems like he could be very close to returning to his absolute best.<\/p>\n

Tom Kim raved about what Scottie Scheffler is doing right now<\/p>\n

Tom Kim<\/a> is one of Scheffler\u2019s closest friends away from tournament play.<\/p>\n

Kim is a huge admirer of Scheffler, and after his round at TPC Southwind on Saturday, he was asked what it feels like to chase down a player like the 30-year-old.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, he\u2019s only had one win this year, so he\u2019s kind of off. No, it\u2019s kudos to him,\u201c he replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe keeps \u2014 I think he\u2019s probably the best No. 1 in the world that we\u2019ve had in a while. No one\u2019s been this dominant for this long. He works so hard, so he deserves everything.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just glad I posted a nice round on Saturday. Obviously he\u2019s so good, so we\u2019re not really focused on him. I\u2019m just kind of focused on my game.\u201c<\/p>\n

Scheffler\u2019s 2026 season has actually been an incredibly good one.<\/p>\n

He will undoubtedly be disappointed with his performances, but that\u2019s only because the standards he has set are so high.<\/p>\n

Tom Kim says whether Scottie Scheffler should win Player of the Year<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old South Korean responded when asked whether he believes Scheffler should be awarded the Player of the Year trophy this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, I haven\u2019t really paid attention on who\u2019s the best Player of the Year,\u201c Kim admitted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know some guys have had three wins, but this guy with one win he\u2019s leading the FedExCup by like 1,000 or close to that. So it\u2019s pretty dominant.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou look at someone else, this is probably one of the best years that someone would have, and it\u2019s just somewhat below average. So you can never take him out of the Player of the Year argument.\u201c<\/p>\n

If Scheffler wins one or two playoff events, he will almost certainly be named as the PGA Tour\u2019s best player for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

However, if someone like Cam Young or Wyndham Clark performs better than him during the playoffs, Scheffler may miss out on winning the award for the first time in five years.<\/p>\n
