But the Studio City man was stunned when recent footage captured, not the usual raccoon, coyote, or even bobcat, but a mountain lion moving across his driveway. The sighting was startling for Landers, but it also reflects a growing reality in Southern California, where large predators are increasingly being pushed into residential areas as wild habitat shrinks.<\/p>\n

KABC<\/a> reported that Chad Landers got up late at night and started checking his home security footage when one animal stood out. At first, he assumed it was a local bobcat, but as he got a clearer view, it became apparent that the animal was much larger than a bobcat.<\/p>\n Landers’s reaction was immediate, telling<\/a> KABC, “Holy crap, that’s a mountain lion. It was so massive. My Tahoe is a pretty big vehicle and when you see the cat up against that, you’re like okay this thing is huge.”<\/p>\n After the sighting, Landers contacted wildlife authorities and noted he had not seen any tag or tracking device on the animal.
