Like Figo Sugo, the concept is built around high‑quality, Italian‑style fast‑casual food, but with a stronger emphasis on whole pies, pasta, and a neighborhood takeout format.

“We thought we could bring another option to the table for the community, for them to be able to walk here and to have an affordable option,” Mendez said. “Our long term goal is to really embrace the community. They’ve been very kind to us. We went to the Civic Association meeting, and introduced ourselves, and everybody was really excited to have another food option.”

The “station” name and train‑car setting are intentional nods to the area’s rail history and to the nearby Lockwood/Eastwood METRORail station, reinforcing the East End’s industrial and transit heritage.

Upon opening, Eastwood Station rapidly generated buzz for its distinctive venue and specialized menu. Its most popular dishes revolve around its Roman‑style pizza al taglio, handmade pastas, standout sandwiches and small plates.

Alongside the pizza, the handmade pasta program gets consistent praise, with lumache and mafaldine. The short rib lasagna bites are highly regarded as are its meatball hoagie, chicken parm, and AB sandwich.

Eastwood Station is now open at 4109 McKinney Street. The restaurant is open from 11 am – 9 pm Wednesday through Sunday.

Photo credit: @eastwoodstationhtx Housed inside a restored Southern Pacific train caboose at 4109 McKinney Street, Eastwood Station is…

[5130
4345,11213,16564,358,3187,9963
post-1005906","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-houston","tag-houston","tag-italian-food","tag-pizza","tag-texas","tag-tx","tag-wine
["GET
