Fortnite\u2019s<\/a> big gaming celebration season arrives this week, on 20th August \u2013 but there\u2019ll be no Sony characters involved.<\/p>\n

While the platform holder has shared Kratos and Aloy with the title in the past, neither feature at all in this trailer for Override.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s possible they could return to the Item Shop at some point during the event, but there\u2019s no word on that.<\/p>\n

Characters that will feature include Sonic the Hedgehog<\/a>, as rumoured<\/a>, as well as Bomberman<\/a> and Persona 5\u2019s<\/a> Joker. It looks like there\u2019ll be weapons and gameplay inspired by all of the above.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Tetris<\/a> and Pac-Man<\/a> will feature as well, while there\u2019ll be loop-the-loops in the island inspired by SEGA\u2019s blue blur. There\u2019s even a Jazz Jackrabbit<\/strong><\/a> nod \u2013 although that game was obviously made by Epic.<\/p>\n

Crash Bandicoot<\/a> and Spyro<\/a> will also appear, but despite their history on PS1, they\u2019re actually owned by Microsoft now.<\/p>\n

I personally think this season looks quite entertaining, and it\u2019s been the first time in quite a while I\u2019ve been tempted to fire up Fortnite.<\/p>\n

But I do think PlayStation\u2019s missed a trick by not getting more involved \u2013 unless that will happen later in the season.<\/p>\n
