\n\tIn a social media post celebrating Bridgers\u2019 birthday, the the pop superstar praised her friend, and former collaborator, on her trip around the sun, and \u201ctriumph\u201d of an album. \u201cIt\u2019s her birthday but she gave us a gift,\u201d Swift wrote of Lost Weekend<\/a>. \u201cHaven\u2019t been able to stop listening. This album is an absolute triumph in every way. To write about grief with such vulnerability and detail, and to trust the listener with this much honesty,\u201d she added. Swift ended her note with: \u201cHappy bday I love you!!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBridgers tapped her usual collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska on the new LP. But she also called up Swift\u2019s longtime producer Jack Antonoff to co-write a couple of songs alongside co-producing all 16 songs alongside Berg and Gruska.<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in 2021, Bridgers appeared on Swift\u2019s \u201cNothing New,\u201d<\/a> a vault track from the 2021 re-recording Red (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/a>. The collaboration was a dream come true for fans of both singer-songwriters, and for the artists themselves. \u201cPhoebe Bridgers is one of my favorite artists in the world,\u201d Swift told<\/a> Seth Meyers upon the song\u2019s release. \u201cI love her voice, and I also love that she\u2019s a very funny person,\u201d Swift continued. \u201cI really wanted another female artist who I loved to sing it with me, because I think it was a very female artist perspective \u2026 And her response was, \u2018I\u2019ve been waiting for this text my entire life.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSince then, the pair have performed<\/a> the track live during the Eras Tour when Bridgers opened for Swift. Their live debut was in Nashville and marked a true full circle moment. Prior to the collaboration, Bridgers posed<\/a> with a sign for the Taylor Swift Education Center inside the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Music City.<\/p>\n

\n\tBridgers has talked about how Swift inspired her from a young age. \u201cOne day, I was listening to country radio with my mom \u2014 my mom\u2019s here \u2014 and Taylor came on. I heard a girl, not much older than me, sing a song she had written about her own life. And the song was really good,\u201d she recalled in a speech<\/a> she delivered at the iHeart Radio Music Awards while presenting Swift\u00a0with the 2023 Innovators Award. \u201cI\u2019m grateful to have grown up in a world with Taylor Swift in it, or, \u2018The World: Taylor\u2019s Version,\u201d she said at the end of the speech.<\/p>\n
