He joined ESPN in 2010.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OXNARD, Calif. &#8212; The <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"b0fc8fb7-9dbe-e574-9008-6f0ee7c6b234\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/team\/_\/name\/dal\/dallas-cowboys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a> dodged a major injury concern when an MRI revealed left tackle <a data-player-guid=\"8d97a218-de40-3930-9e58-e57edeb8aa15\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4609048\/tyler-guyton\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tyler Guyton<\/a> did not suffer a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Monday&#8217;s practice.<\/p>\n<p>He sustained a bone fracture and is looking at a recovery of four to six weeks but will not require surgery, according to a source.<\/p>\n<p>The ACL is intact but there was an initial thought that the ligament might have been torn, which would have required season-ending surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Guyton was hurt on a pass play during team drills and remained on the ground for a long time as he was tended to by the team&#8217;s medical staff. He was able to walk off the field slowly under his own power after briefly being aided by <a data-player-guid=\"19e0d5a6-9c4e-83d1-c9c2-5cfa322727f5\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4361423\/micah-parsons\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Micah Parsons<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Editor&#8217;s Picks<\/p>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<p>While still a loss for the offensive line, it&#8217;s not as bad as it could have been. Guyton, Dallas&#8217; first-round pick in 2024, struggled at times in the 15 games (11 starts) he played but had a productive offseason in terms of altering his body and his game.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Brian Schottenheimer noted Guyton had more confidence heading into his second season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The fact he&#8217;s willing to try different sets and use the different tools that [offensive coordinator Klayton Adams and offensive line coach Conor Riley] have given him shows me that there&#8217;s a confidence and a trust in the tools that he&#8217;s been given,&#8221; Schottenheimer said.<\/p>\n<p>Without Guyton, the Cowboys have <a data-player-guid=\"abc40df5-6261-dc03-24cd-a623ae477711\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4430379\/asim-richards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Asim Richards<\/a>, who made one start at left tackle last season, <a data-player-guid=\"bcfdf0a7-ddce-9d07-24a3-b9a5387b07b5\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4046557\/hakeem-adeniji\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hakeem Adeniji<\/a> and rookie <a data-player-guid=\"96356cd7-604a-3262-a755-7620b7b63a42\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4696203\/ajani-cornelius\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ajani Cornelius<\/a> as potential replacements.<\/p>\n<p>Adeniji played some left tackle with the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"75b8623b-8926-b411-0476-3d3602b78523\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/team\/_\/name\/cin\/cincinnati-bengals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> but spent most of his time at right tackle. With right tackle <a data-player-guid=\"008d11c1-895d-d75f-8784-e356a8ad6b55\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/3915834\/terence-steele\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Terence Steele<\/a> recently slowed by an ankle injury, Adeniji had been working with the starters.<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys could also consider left guard <a data-player-guid=\"9f728909-aaff-c6bc-8cc0-507eb9bdc109\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4568652\/tyler-smith\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tyler Smith<\/a> for the spot, but he has been named to the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons. He started 15 games at left tackle as a rookie in 2022 after Tyron Smith suffered a hamstring avulsion that required surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Guyton was the No. 29 pick in 2024 and moved to left tackle as a rookie after starting at right tackle in his final season at <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"67d60bca-1b6b-8d78-81ae-6889e883bb96\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/team\/_\/id\/201\/oklahoma-sooners\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oklahoma<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Guyton is the second offensive lineman the Cowboys have lost in as many days. Guard <a data-player-guid=\"3217fd0c-25ea-3e3e-850b-400638c72ac6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/4570495\/robert-jones\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rob Jones<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/45841018\/cowboys-rob-jones-broken-neck-bone-2-3-months\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">broke a bone in his neck<\/a> Sunday.
