Not scrolling through your phone. Not squeezing in a few bites between meetings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Actually taking a break.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 etvbxt font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Stack-vJ7SwH7U__StackBase-sc-1m5bkhd-0 evEXvX dsnUCb\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">A new survey is highlighting how many workers are struggling to step away from their desks during the workday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/talkerresearch.com\/more-workers-see-outdoor-lunch-breaks-as-a-workplace-priority\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/talkerresearch.com\/more-workers-see-outdoor-lunch-breaks-as-a-workplace-priority\/\">Talker Research<\/a> surveyed 2,000 workers and found 85% of employees say they sometimes skip lunch altogether, while more than half say they spend their entire workday indoors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">But here\u2019s the interesting part: 78% say they\u2019d rather eat lunch outside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The survey found workers who ate lunch outside reported feeling happier afterward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">The percentage of people who rated themselves as happy increased from 51% before lunch to 66% after eating outside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">And it may not just be the fresh air.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Workers surveyed said they spend about 60% of their lunch break on a phone or computer, meaning many people aren\u2019t fully stepping away even when they do take a break.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Experts say one of the simplest ways to make the most of a lunch break is to actually disconnect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">That could mean putting the phone down, stepping away from the computer, and getting outside \u2014 even if it\u2019s only for a few minutes to eat or take a short walk.<\/p>\n<p><b>Do you actually take your lunch break?<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">For many workers, lunch has become another opportunity to multitask rather than a chance to recharge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">So, we want to know: <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 by KPRC Click2Houston &#8211; All rights reserved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"When was the last time you actually took a lunch break?
