From director Osgood Perkins <\/strong>and distributor NEON, gruesomely demented horror movie The Monkey <\/strong>will be making its streaming debut courtesy of Hulu next month.<\/p>\n

The Monkey will be streaming on Hulu beginning August 7, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Based on the\u00a0Stephen King<\/strong>\u00a0short story from 1985\u2019s\u00a0Skeleton Crew<\/strong>, the gory horror-comedy is written and directed by\u00a0Osgood Perkins\u00a0(Longlegs) and produced by\u00a0James Wan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the film, \u201cWhen twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tear their family apart. 25 years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy.\u201d Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Colin O\u2019Brien, Rohan Campbell<\/strong>, and\u00a0Sarah Levy<\/strong>\u00a0star.<\/p>\n

Meagan Navarro wrote\u00a0in her review<\/a>, \u201cWith storytelling efficiency and a playful spirit, The Monkey delivers a King adaptation like no other. Perkins pushes back against logic in favor of entertaining midnight madness, and death has never been funnier or gorier as a result.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Monkey scared up $68.8 million at the worldwide box office, leading to a new pact between Perkins and NEON. In addition to launching his own production banner titled\u00a0Phobos<\/strong>, alongside Chris Ferguson, Perkins has also signed a first look deal with NEON.<\/p>\n
