Police say they arrested a suspect who beat a man so severely he was left on a Bronx roadway earlier this month, where he was fatally run over by two vehicles, including an NYPD<\/a> vehicle.<\/p>\n

According to police sources, cops took 39-year-old Luis Torres of Queens<\/a> into custody last Thursday by the NYPD warrant squad. He has been charged with attempted murder, attempted assault, and two counts of assault.<\/p>\n

Cops say the victim, whose identity is still pending proper family notification, was allegedly attacked by Torres on East 166 Street and College Avenue during the early hours of Aug. 8. Police sources say the victim was slapped, causing him to fall in the roadway. Minutes later, he was struck by white BMW SUV traveling eastbound on East 166th Street. The car fled the scene.<\/p>\n

The victim was struck again, this time by a marked NYPD vehicle. The officers stayed at the scene and attempted to render medical aid.\n<\/p>\n
