Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders Armani Latimer<\/a> and Charly Barby visited Today With Jenna & Friends<\/a> following the release of America\u2019s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys<\/a> Season 2, which revealed in its stunning conclusion that the team earned a 400% wage increase for the 2025-2026 season.<\/p>\n

Today guest host Niecy Nash-Betts<\/a> asked Latimer how it felt to be \u201cinstrumental\u201d in the fight for the salary increase.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think as a leader, you always want to set an example,\u201d Latimer said. \u201cI think as a team this year we wanted to set an example for the entire NFL, as far as cheerleading goes. We just wanted to take a stand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Latimer, who is a veteran member of the team, spearheaded the fight for higher pay with Jada McLean.<\/p>\n

America\u2019s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys follows the team from auditions to training camp as they prepare for the NFL season. Tensions are high as veteran team members and rookies alike compete for a spot on one of the league\u2019s most high-profile teams.<\/p>\n

But Season 1 revealed the job was not as glamorous as it seems. Dallas Cowboy cheerleader Kat Puryear claimed<\/a> on the show that she earned as much as a substitute teacher or full-time Chick-fil-A employee while dancing for the team.<\/p>\n

According to Sports Illustrated<\/a>, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders reportedly earn $500 per game \u2013 or $10,000 per season \u2013 while earning additional income for promotional events and public appearances.<\/p>\n

Many of the dancers continue working full-time jobs in addition to the demanding schedule.<\/p>\n

The wage increase was revealed in the finale of Season 2. Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders coach Kelli Finglass<\/a> recently told DECIDER<\/a> she was \u201cvery proud\u201d of the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire organization wants to make sure they feel valued,\u201d Finglass said. \u201cWe needed to have a discussion at the right time when we could make changes, and that has happened now. They\u2019re happy with the program\u2019s enhancements, and we\u2019re happy for them. We want our team to be productive and feel valued.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cheerleader Megan McElaney said on the show that it felt like they were finally \u201cdone fighting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDancers are athletes. They have so much value,\u201d she said, adding it \u201cfelt like a relief, like everything had paid off.<\/p>\n
