Others toss the notices in the garbage \u2013 arguing the use of traffic cameras is unconstitutional, inaccurate or just annoying.<\/p>\n
After failing to pay a camera-generated ticket, Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky declined to say if she shares the latter philosophy\u00a0\u2013 pleading ignorance.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had no information or knowledge of it whatsoever before I was contacted by a reporter,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
According to Scottsdale Police Department Officer Aaron Bolin, \u201cScottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky was photographed by a photo enforcement speed camera at 3:06 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n
Traveling northbound on Scottsdale Road across Thomas Road, Borowsky was allegedly driving 58 mph \u2013 in a 40 mph zone.<\/p>\n
On Halloween, Scottsdale City Court mailed Borowsky notice of the violation.<\/p>\n
According to Bolin, Borowsky did not respond by the deadline of Dec. 1 she was given.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter that date had passed, a contract process server made three attempts to serve the citation at her listed residence,\u201d Bolin said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe process server was unable to make contact with anyone at the residence, and the citation was not served.\u201d<\/p>\n
Why wasn\u2019t Borowsky contacted at City Hall?<\/p>\n
\u201cThe process servers do not attempt service at the offender’s place of employment,\u201d Bolin said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we have a repeat offender, our officers will handle the citation service, and we will visit the offender’s workplace.\u201d<\/p>\n
But, Bolin added, \u201cThat is a very rare occurrence.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Borowsky citation was dismissed Feb. 28, according to Bolin.<\/p>\n
