Start practicing the silliest way you can say \u201clittle Alex Horne,\u201d<\/a> because Taskmaster is coming back.<\/p>\n

The series\u2019 22nd season<\/a> premieres on September 3 in the U.K. and worldwide on the Taskmaster YouTube channel with episodes dropping each week at 5 p.m. Eastern. This season\u2019s five contestants include the long-clamored-for Richard Ayoade (who\u2019s on a bit of a recent tear, between nearly winning the first season of Last One Laughing<\/a> and being booked for the upcoming sixth season<\/a> of Only Murders in the Building), Matt Lucas (who hopefully won\u2019t do the same punny schtick he did on The Great British Bake Off<\/a>), Edinburgh Fringe mainstay Chloe Petts, comedian and writer Isy Suttie, and actor and ventriloquist Nina Conti.<\/p>\n

Petts, Suttie, and Conti might be less well known to outside-the-U.K. audiences than Ayoade and Lucas, but we live in a time when getting acquainted with British comedians is easier than ever. Thank you, internet! Episodes of Petts\u2019s soccer\/comedy-mashup series, Comedians Taking Penalties with Chloe Petts<\/a>, are available on YouTube. Early in her career, Suttie starred alongside Ludwig\u2019s David Mitchell<\/a> in the sitcom Peep Show<\/a>; the series is streaming on Hulu and BritBox<\/a>. And all episodes of Conti\u2019s web series, Nina Conti, in Therapy<\/a>, and her Live at the Apollo human-ventriloquism act<\/a>, are on YouTube.<\/p>\n

Who will please Taskmaster Greg Davies the most? (And who is<\/a> the mysterious Oscar winner who\u2019s already filmed a season of the show?) Only time will tell. According to the press release announcing this season, the contestants will have to \u201ccrawl through secret tunnels, look for faces on toast, go on holiday with shoes and make interesting use of their armpits.\u201d Best of luck to them and whoever has to clean the Taskmaster house after that armpit challenge.<\/p>\n
