{"id":1011990,"date":"2026-08-20T02:52:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T02:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1011990\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T02:52:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T02:52:14","slug":"aircraft-crash-involving-state-police-reported-in-carlisle-pa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1011990\/","title":{"rendered":"Aircraft crash involving state police reported in Carlisle, Pa."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1 dead, 2 state troopers hurt after aircrafts collide midair in Pennsylvania<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/853c053a-375d-4f49-afda-568da22e36ea_1727472834.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Caitlyn Scott\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><strong class=\"css-ncbpmr\">CARLISLE, Pa. \u2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">Two troopers were injured, and one person has died after a small aircraft collided with a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Wednesday afternoon. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\"><strong> Pennsylvania State Police and other officials are expected to hold a press conference on the incident at 10:30 p.m. This press conference will be streamed in the playfinder above once live. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">During a press conference held by Pennsylvania Police Acting Commissioner Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens and Governor Josh Shapiro, officials said a Cessna 150 airplane and a Bell 407 helicopter collided in midair near Carlisle around 7 p.m. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Bivens said a police helicopter was in a grassy area conducting routine training when it was hit by a small Cessna aircraft. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">Two troopers inside the helicopter were injured and taken to the hospital, there current condition remains unknown. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">Bivens said one person in the Cessna plane did not survive. Their identity has not been released.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">Shapiro issued a statement on Facebook, saying, &#8220;I\u2019ve been briefed on the aircraft crash involving PA State Police this evening in Carlisle, and I am heading there now.
