BALTIMORE \u2014 The Yankees certainly seem to have caught a break against the Orioles.<\/p>\n

Pete Alonso, along with all of his teammates in the Orioles dugout, was sure he\u2019d hit a dramatic, go-ahead homer in the bottom of the seventh of a tie game Wednesday night against the Yankees at Camden Yards.<\/p>\n

In near Carlton Fisk-fashion after crushing a pitch from lefty Brent Headrick, Alonso watched the ball as he walked down the first base line.<\/p>\n

The ball seemingly sailed over the left field foul pole.<\/p>\n

He flipped his bat away, convinced he\u2019d just hit his 30th homer of the season \u2014 and second of the night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instead, home plate umpire Ryan Wills called the ball foul, much to Alonso\u2019s disgust.<\/p>\n

After a lengthy replay delay, the call stood and to make matters worse for Baltimore, the Yankees scratched out two runs in the eighth en route to a 5-3 win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A livid Alonso, who\u2019d homered in the third inning off Will Warren, was forced to continue the at-bat.<\/p>\n

He eventually went down swinging to keep the game tied.<\/p>\n
