\n\tCameron Boyce<\/a>\u2018s mother, Libby Boyce, thanked Adam Sandler<\/a> for the tribute to her son in \u201cHappy Gilmore 2<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThank you [Adam Sandler] for honoring Cam\u2019s legacy in \u2018Happy Gilmore 2,’\u201d she wrote in an Instagram post Monday<\/a>, sharing a still of the tribute and a frame of Sandler and Boyce in \u201cGrown Ups 2.\u201d Boyce died in 2019<\/a> due to an epileptic seizure in his sleep.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHappy Gilmore 2\u2019s\u201d nod to Boyce<\/a> comes early in the film as Sandler\u2019s foul-mouthed golfer is checking in for a tee time. When Happy approaches the desk, one of the clerks is watching a scene from the Disney Channel comedy \u201cJessie\u201d featuring Boyce.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Sunday, she also posted an article about the \u201cHappy Gilmore 2\u201d tribute and shared some details about her son and Sandler\u2019s relationship.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAdam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death,\u201d she wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cCameron was supposed to be in \u2018Hubie Halloween\u2019 and they were strategizing. They had a bond I think related to being authentic, funny and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cam\u2019s memory alive which warms our heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis isn\u2019t the first time Sandler paid tribute to the young star in one of his films. Sandler dedicated his 2020 comedy \u201cHubie Halloween\u201d to Boyce, who was supposed to star alongside him before his untimely death. A message in the film\u2019s credits reads, \u201cIn loving memory of Cameron Boyce. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBoyce came up as a child star, starring in Disney\u2019s \u201cJessie\u201d and the \u201cDescendants\u201d film series. He later appeared in the 2008 films \u201cMirrors\u201d and \u201cEagle Eye\u201d before starring as Sandler\u2019s on-screen son in \u201cGrown Ups\u201d and \u201cGrown Ups 2.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Boyce\u2019s death, Sandler shared the following tribute on X, \u201cToo young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.\u201d<\/p>\n
