Financial expert explains fees in money management<\/p>\n

Financial expert Kathryn McCall, a CAPTRUST vice president, joined KCRA 3 this week to break down what to know about money manager fees and how to tell if your adviser is worth it.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople spend more time getting the best deal possible on their next flight for their next vacation, they spend more time on that than they do understanding how their thousands or millions of dollars are being managed, and who they are paying and how,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

McCall said a financial adviser can explain how they are being paid and who else you\u2019re paying in the relationship. <\/p>\n

Money changing hands can include commissions, management fees and in some cases kickbacks from companies to the financial adviser. <\/p>\n

She said that certified financial planners are required to act in the client\u2019s best interest. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a good starting place,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
