Monroe St., in downtown Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Mark-Alan C. Clemente, the production leans into the physical comedy, sharp timing and escalating absurdity that have made Shue\u2019s play an audience favorite.<\/p>\n<p>Set in 1980s Terre Haute, Indiana, \u201cThe Nerd\u201d follows mild-mannered architect Willum Cubbert, whose life is upended when Rick Steadman \u2014 the man who once saved his life \u2014 unexpectedly arrives.
