Well, worry no more, Walmart shopper. The retail giant is <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.walmart.com\/news\/2026\/08\/21\/more-ways-to-pay-tap-to-pay-is-coming-to-walmart-and-sams-club\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">introducing tap-to-pay<\/a> at select <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/business\/article\/walmart-sales-22396195.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Walmart<\/a> and Sam\u2019s Club locations starting this Monday, August 24.<\/p>\n<p>The retailer said it wants to make shopping feel simpler and more seamless throughout the entire experience, and a big part of that is the checkout process. It will roll out tap-to-pay at all U.S. stores and clubs by the end of 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Walmart will also add the feature to its fuel stations by mid-2027, the company\u00a0stated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.walmart.com\/news\/2026\/08\/21\/more-ways-to-pay-tap-to-pay-is-coming-to-walmart-and-sams-club\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTap to Pay gives customers and members another familiar and convenient way to pay at checkout using contactless payment methods,\u201d the retailer stated. \u201cWhether picking up groceries, gifts or everyday essentials, they can check out using eligible contactless card, phone, or smartwatch. Customers and members can also add their eligible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/business\/article\/walmart-remodel-texas-22230114.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Walmart<\/a>, Sam&#8217;s Club and OnePay cards to their digital wallets, giving them another convenient way to use their cards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The stores and clubs still accept cash, major credit cards and its branded Walmart Pay, which uses the Walmart app to pay for purchases, view receipts and access a premium subscription to Walmart+, which offers fuel savings. Sam\u2019s Club members can also use the Scan &amp; Go feature and pay as they shop to skip the physical checkout line at the end of the transaction.<\/p>\n<p>MySA\u00a0reached out to Walmart to ask if any stores in the San Antonio and South Texas area will be part of the test phase before the national rollout.
